Water - What is enough?

I have been though boughts where I am really great at drinking lots of water and other times when I am really terrible. For awhile during college I went through a time where I always had a huge water bottle with me. I would spend most of my classes drinking this water. Of course this was probably because I went to college in the moutains and had to keep my energy up to basically HIKE to class. Oh well...

Once I starting working full time, I became a huge fan of Diet Coke. *Oh, the nectar of the gods!*
I drank one every morning, mid-morning for a little pick-me-up to get though sitting all day staring at a computer.

Then I got pregnant with E. I was so paranoid about caffeine that I didn't touch soda the whole time I was pregnant. She came and I was a sleep deprived zombie...back came the caffiene ... out went the water.

Then I was pregnant with C....same deal-e-o as before.

Except this pregancy my amnionic fluid was low. So low that for a month or more, I had ultrasounds every few weeks to keep an eye on things. I was told to drink water. LOTS.

Now I was already drinking a pretty fair amount but not really paying attention to it. So being the anal retentive person I am, I researched it.
Did you know there is an easy way to find out if you are getting enough water? I didn't till then and I will share it with you.

Take your weight   -  Divide it in half.
That's how many ounces of water you should drink a day. Yup, it's that easy.

So, if you weigh 150 lbs., then you should drink 75 oz of water.
That is a little more than 9 - 8oz glasses.

Now if you are like me, who has time to fill up a glass 9 times! I work, I have 2 kids...not happening!

My solution....a 32 oz Nalgene bottle.

I only have to fill it up 3 times to get plenty of water for the day. I drink a bit more than I need because I am breastfeeding.
I fill it up once in the morning when I get to work.
Again at lunch.
And then before I leave to go home.

Pretty freakin' easy!

If you are really feeling fancy...put some lemon slices or cucumbers in it. I don't mind my water plain - so I don't bother.

Drink up and enjoy!
